Heading a bit north where tourists normally wouldn't arrive, you will find Bar Tomás, known for its famous "patatas bravas". The secret is on the sauce and the texture.
The good thing about this bar as well, is that it is the purely typical spanish bar, even though foreigners get to know it more and more, the truth is that those who go the most are people living around the neighborhood.
So take the bus, or Ferrocarrils Catalans in Plaza Catalunya and head to Sarria (Sarria stop). You will have the chance of feeling you have lived there forever for a couple of hours.

Note: If you see there is a long queue, don't worry, wait! It's worth it, plus the services is very fast, so chances are that you can get a table in max 20 minutes. As well bare in mind that maybe you don't want to kiss anybody after eating those bravas ;)
